A short self-check that shows you and your tutor where to spend your time together. Nothing is graded. Select the option that matches where you are right now.
You answer, say how sure you were, and tell us what made it hard. That turns "you got this one wrong" into "you know the rule but could not apply it here", which is exactly what your tutor needs.
When you finish, your results are recorded with Area Learn so that your tutor can prepare and so that we can see where learners most often need help. Nothing here is graded, and nothing is shared beyond Area Learn.
Choose your course and select the modules you are working on. A few questions on those modules follow, then your brief is built.
Which Modules Are You Working On? (select all that apply)Enter the percentage from your RECA results summary for each competency. Leave blank any that were not reported. Your weakest areas come first.

Select Save My Brief and a print window opens: choose Save as PDF and keep the file for your tutor. Add your email first if you also want the brief kept on your Area Learn record (optional).
The last part of the brief holds the prompt your tutor pastes into the Area Learn tutoring engine.
| Solid | Correct and confident. Leave it alone. |
| Developing | Correct, but you were only fairly sure. A quick review will firm it up. |
| Shaky | Correct, but you were guessing. Treat it as not yet known. |
| Known gap | Wrong, and you knew you were unsure. The easiest kind of gap to close with study. |
| Blind spot | Wrong, but you felt confident. The most valuable thing to fix, because it will not feel wrong on exam day. |
