Porting is the transfer of a phone number from one cell phone company to another. It is necessary in order to join the Area WIRELESS program if you are not with Rogers currently. It is a simple process and allows you to keep your existing phone number!
There is no contract; you can cancel at anytime, the plan is month-to-month. If you decide to leave the Area WIRELESS plan mid-billing cycle, you are responsible to pay for the full month regardless of cancellation date.
Yes! Adding a Data Only plan is easy. It provides an additional 1GB of max speed data in a billing cycle to your monthly plan.

If for any reason you find the coverage does not suit your needs keep in mind there is no contact commitment on the Area WIRELESS mobility plan, however we have not found this to be an issue with our subscribers.
Area WIRELESS users are billed on a monthly cycle, and are responsible for all charges incurred. You will be sent an email with your invoice attached each month. All users must provide up to date credit card information for automatic billing purposes. To set up your billing, or view your current and past bills, you can simply visit https://area.mywirelessconcierge.ca where all of your account information is stored.

If you are retaining your existing device, the switch should not affect the software of your phone, with the exception of some carrier-specific apps that may no longer work.
