AREA commissioned member research on behalf of itself and the 10 local Alberta Boards/Associations, which was completed by Insights West in September. More than 2,500 members participated. Respondents overwhelmingly told us to concentrate on streamlining services throughout Alberta.
We heard you. Your Alberta Boards/Associations have been hard at work on streamlining services for many years, with success on provincial forms and harmonized provincial rules, and – shortly – the introduction of broad MLS® system streamlining. Currently we are working on streamlining and enhancing administrative justice to ensure consistency across the province.
Opinions on Board/Association structure change were far more mixed, with an average of 58 per cent of members wanting to explore a consolidated Board/Association structure, while some Board memberships voiced opposition of more than 70 per cent. Based on this mixed result, Insights West has recommended continuing to prioritize streamlining services through 2020 and revisiting larger structural changes at a later date.
