The AREA Political Action Committee is now accepting applications for the 2025-26 term. APAC guides and supports the AREA Government Relations function and Advocacy process. It is the key mechanism by which AREA members and boards can speak with one voice on provincial issues and legislation affecting Alberta REALTORS® and real estate consumers.
If you are interested, please email your resume and a brief statement of interest to advocacy@albertarealtor.ca, by no later than February 28th, 2025. Political experience is an asset but not required.
Safety for REALTORS® can be a lot more complicated than other professions. Not only does your worksite frequently change, but you travel between work sites, and much of your work is done with relative strangers. It is important as REALTORS® to be proactive about your safety and take steps to create a reasonably safe working environment.
One way you can be safer in the field is by utilizing the Kinetic Global Safety App, offered by AREA since 2022. This app is available to all REALTORS® in Alberta, included within your dues. Like a digital buddy system, the straightforward app has several features , including:
Thumb mode: If the user takes their thumb off the phone screen, an alert is set out to emergency services.
Timer: the user must check in by a certain time otherwise an alert is sent to emergency services. .

Thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event so memorable. A special thank you to our BWC sponsors—BCREA, REMAX, Century 21—and all our other sponsors for their invaluable support.
